New collection Balenciaga
The new eyewear collection by BALENCIAGA fits perfectly in the brand's contemporary universe. The concept is a mix of luxury, radical perspective and architectural inspirations.
The shapes are purposely a play on curves and rounded angles both for the mask and temples. Luxury is emphasized by the organic aspect of the shapes and the new slimmer proportions.
Nicolas Ghesquière, along with the Safilo creative team, has designed a highly original collection, assertive and contemporary that expresses luxury without ostentation, achieved with the most innovative methods to date.
This BALENCIAGA collection features two continuing lines, ‘BALENCIAGA.PARIS’ for sunglasses and opticals and ‘BALENCIAGA.EDITION’ for reissued frames inspired by the classic models of the house's archives.
SUNGLASS COLLECTION
This collection offers a selection of curved organic shapes with reduced proportions. The spirit is intentionally luxurious and technically sophisticated.
This season sees acetate and metal mixed harmoniously in the new frames. The lenses offer a range of shaded tints.
The colour combinations of the metal, acetate and shaded lenses are the result of a careful study that has been directly inspired by a wintry palette with colours such as white and grey, a characteristic of BALENCIAGA.
OPTICAL FRAMES COLLECTION
The frames and colours are purposely subdued. The shapes are pure and in line with the austerity of the BALENCIAGA style and harmonize with the general spirit of the collection with its rounded sinuous shapes.
The colours refer to a more classic palette with silver, gold, honey or havana and emphasize modernity and luxury in the eyewear.
BALENCIAGA.EDITION
Model BAL 0045/S is an updated version of one of the designs taken from the style archives. This model is recognizable by the colour sections on each temple and by the two-tone mask, which emphasizes BALENCIAGA's contemporary styling. The “vintage grey” shade is paired with amber, black, brown or red. The palette remains austere and elegant to express the contemporaneity of the model.
